MONGOLIA HUNT # 41

We have personally hunted Mongolia several times with this outfitter and over nearly 15 years we have worked closely with them, sending dozens of hunters to Mongolia. We believe we have put together the best operation in Mongolia. They get the most allocations and have the money and equipment and personnel and many premiere areas. Indeed, one of their Argali guides, Adyia,(now retired) was probably the world's foremost guide for Argali.  We consider Mongolia to be perhaps the most unique place in the world to hunt big game! They have three of the world's largest sheep (The Altai Argali; the Hangai Argali and the Gobi Argali). Besides these three monstrous sheep, they have some awesome Ibex hunting (100% success) for two types of Ibex, the largest being the Altai Ibex, the next largest the Gobi Ibex.  One client in 2005 took a 48" Ibex- possible #6 SCI!  They have some superb elk hunting (Maral stag in SCI)- but this elk hunt is currently suspended pending population counts. Our elk actually are descendants of these elk-coming into North America over the ancient Asian land bridge. Butch's biggest elk came from there. Butch also took 6 Ibex hunters over to Mongolia in 2002 to hunt the High Altai Ibex. They took 7 Ibex is 2 days, and every single one was eligible for SCI book!! Now you can also hunt wolf; Blacktail and whitetail gazelles and much more.

 IBEX FOR 2008: Normally 100% on Altai or Gobi Ibex. A lXl hunt 7 day itinerary for the larger Altai Ibex is only $5150!!!! Imagine- this just may be the biggest bargain in the sheep hunting world today!! And these are magnificent trophies with huge soaring horns. We normally suggest a 9 day itinerary to allow you to be more selective on trophies- that hunt is only $5700!! That way you have 5 full hunt days. A 2Xl hunt is also available at a $400 savings. We prefer 1X1 if you go that far! Add a second ibex for a $2000 trophy fee.

A Gobi Ibex (slightly smaller than Altai)  on a 7 day itinerary 1X1 guiding is only $5000, or go 9 days for only $5550!! A 2X1 guided hunt for Gobi Ibex saves you $500. Add a second Gobi Ibex for $1900. Add a rare Blacktailed gazelle for $900.

Butch with 45" Altai Ibex

ARGALl:

The ALTAI ARGALl is generally considered to be the most massive sheep in the world. Although a Marco Polo may sport longer horns, only the Argali can show the kind of mass that is unbelievable. Base circumference of horns can reach 21"!! Lengths can exceed 65"! They can weigh 600 pounds. A 16 day expedition for the Altai Argali, plus an Altai Ibex (2 species) is $50,000. High success hunt!

The HANGAI ARGALl hunt is 14 days in length. These sheep are a bit smaller, but typically run in the 45"-55" range and can go to 60" with 17"-20" bases. This specie usually requires effort as numbers are fewer. $35,000 which includes a Hillier Goitered Gazelle (blacktail gazelle). You can add a Whitetail gazelle for the trophy fee.

The GOBI ARGALl is in our opinion the sleeper- the true bargain in Argali's. There are lots of them­and hunters report often seeing several hundred sheep in a day! This is a 3 specie hunt- take the Argali, plus a Gobi Ibex plus a Whitetailed Gazelle. This hunt is a 12 day expedition and the price is ONLY $29,0001!
