NORTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA ELK/MOOSE- 8 full days of guided hunting for elk, moose, black bear and wolf. Currently 2 types of hunts are available: Foothills hunt, 2 x 1, for moose or elk- 90% success, elk at 50% success, black bear, good success and wolf which is always a target of opportunity. Cost on the Foothills hunt is $7950/no trophy fees! Mountain hunts, 1 x 1 for elk, 90% success, moose 85% with wolf and bear targets of opportunity. The mountain hunt is a 1x1 hunt at $8,950 for elk with options on moose, mountain caribou, and mountain goats on a trophy fee basis. COLORADO-GUIDED HORSEBACK ELK/DEER HUNTS- We like the fact that in this outfitters area motorized vehicles are prohibited. This minimizes local pressure and helps insure a quality hunt. This is a very scenic area of some 80,000 acres. Although you are quite high (9,000') the actual country is user-friendly-small ridges with open parks, pines and aspens. Because his area borders Rocky Mountain National Park, he has a large resident herd and takes some very good bulls. If you draw a deer tag, there are some good mulies here too. There is a full time cook and the camp has people who run a fine operation and give great value for your money. They do archery, muzzleloader and rifle. Tag for rifle is over the counter. WYOMING WILDERNESS AREA ELK & BIGHORN SHEEP- This high success horseback hunt is located in Wyoming's Washakie wilderness area, 40 miles west of Meeteetsee. The best part is that the horseback ride, to camp is under 3 hours and not the usual 8-12 hour trip. You'll hunt from a well maintained outfitters camp consisting of wall tents equipped with cots, foam mattresses and wood stoves. Meals are served family style in a heated dining tent. Hunting is done by horseback riding, spot and stalk methods. Be prepared for an occasional long shot cross canyon. Actual success on elk averages better than 75% on good bulls and 95% on Big Horns! This outfitter comes highly recommended by one of our long time outfitters. Last year they took nearly 40 animals for approximately 40 hunters, both bow and gun! You can take any legal species on this hunt as long as you have the tags - AND this family will NOT charge you extra for more than one head of game!! So get a deer tag, if available, then get a cow elk tag, then buy a bull tag. Same cost as one specie hunt. Private land in Unit 214. Guiding is done by the family, and you will hunt from stands and do some spot and stalk. Opportunity historically has been in the 80% and up area. WYOMING RIFLE ELK/DEER- This outfitter has 20 years guiding experience, most of which has been right in his home area of operations along the Wyoming/Idaho border just south of Jackson Hole. On average 80 to 95% of his hunters have an opportunity on elk, and about 70-80% have an opportunity on mule deer. This is an honest and extremely hardworking outfitter who offers you a great value for your dollar and produces some excellent animals. This area can produce some true trophy class deer and elk. Alberta Elk/Whitetail Ranch Hunt # 58

We have been looking for a long time for an elk hunt on a preserve that we felt would justify our recommendation as being a "hunt". We have located a preserve in Saskatchewan with 7,500 acres in 3 parcels. You can walk 9 miles border to border!Hunting is on foot, bugling, spot and stalk, glassing from high points. Stay in a deluxe 5 star lodge, or in a wall tent waking up to bugling bulls and the aroma of hot coffee! Archery, blackpowder or rifle. Because of all the ground to cover, hunts are 4 days in length.

You are guided 2x1 and you may take a bull elk (5x5 or 6x6) grossing up to 300 B&C! That is a bigger bull than 95% of elk hunters will ever kill, or possibly see. Believe us, bulls over 300 B&C do not come easily. Hunts take place between November 1-30. On this hunt you will not stay at the lodge but in a nearby town where room and meals are at your expense. Guides will pick you up and take you to the ranch and return you. There is also a $225 export/license fee on your bull.
